It doesn't matter if you were born lucky, given an 'upper hand'.
There will always be a way for the reckless to lose their head start in life, or for the unfortunate to gain what was never in their grasp.
Scholar is the story of Arthur Tibarious, and incredibly lucky (yet unfortunate) Prince who has been imprisoned for half of his young life. As an emissary and 'Scholar' working for his captors, he stumbles upon the truth of his world.
Is the life he left really worth going back to?

NAME: IVAN RAEF
TRIBE: VEL EORTAI*
FLUENT IN; ONIADION, KAVIELLSE-RAN
*Translator's note on Vel Eortai- this is an Oniadion phrase that means 'come from nothing', or literally 'Null Origin'. Ivan's tribe is unknown, thus he is referred to as a Vel Eortai (pronounced vell ee or tie. This is abbreviated VE as seen in the margins of Franklin's book.
Also- In case you were curious; Oniadion (pronounced Oni addy on) is the name of the world Scholar is set in, and also the name of the most commonly spoken language there. Not all tribes can speak Oniadion, but the tribes that trade and travel a lot (more on that later) can generally speak both Oniadion basic and their own.
Ivan is fluent in Oniadion, and also Kaviellse-Ran (pronounced Ka veal say ran), which is another common tribal origin.
Because I have yet to make a full list of all the Tribes in Oniadion (along with pronunciations and symbolism), I'll add things a little at a time when I post a page.
